IIIEEEEEEEEEE

Hey GRLS AND BOYS! oh my GOSH! its been soo long!
anwayz.. i was looking thru the internet and found this awesome site called http://everystudent.com/au/forum/historical.html
its full of questions about God, hell heaven and heapz more. heres one of the Qs from the site-

Q: "Are there any historical writings, other than the Bible, that prove that Jesus ever really lived?"

our A: Yes. Cornelius Tacitus (A.D. 55-120) was considered the greatest historian of ancient Rome. He wrote of Nero who "punished with the most exquisite tortures, the persons commonly called Christians, who were hated for their enormities. Christus [Christ], the founder of the name, was put to death by Pontius Pilate, procurator of Judea in the reign of Tiberius: but the pernicious superstition, repressed for a time, broke out again, not only through Judea, where the mischief originiated, but through the city of Rome also."1

Also, Flavius Josephus, a Jewish historian, (A.D. 38-100+) wrote about Jesus in his Jewish Antiquities, saying that Jesus was a wise man who did surprising feats, taught many, won over followers from among Jews and Greeks, that Jesus was believed to be the Messiah, was accused by the Jewish leaders, was condemned to be crucified by Pilate, and was considered to be resurrected.2

The existence of Jesus Christ is recorded not only by Josephus and Tacitus, but also by ancient writers such as Suetonius, Thallus, Pliny the Younger, and Lucian. And from the Jewish Talmud, "we learn that Jesus was conceived out of wedlock, gathered disciples, made blasphemous claims about himself, and worked miracles, but these miracles are attributed to sorcery and not to God."3

Thus, historians both favorable and unfavorable regarding Jesus did write about him. Also there were many historical writings about the early Christians.

Note: Many people also have an internal source of confirmation that Jesus existed, and still exists today. The Bible says that God by His Spirit bears witness of Christ (John 15:26) and convinces the world concerning Him (John 16:8-11). So it's possible for someone without access to ancient historical writings or the Bible to believe that Jesus was real. A person can hear about Jesus from another source, and God can confirm it by His Spirit.

The Worlds biggest question.

Billy Graham's daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her "How God could let something like this happen?" (regarding the attacks on Sept. 11).

Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response. She said "I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives.

And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has backed out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?"

In light of recent events...terrorists attack, school shootings, etc. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she was murdered, her body found recently) complained she didn't want prayer in our schools, and we said OK.

Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school ... the Bible says thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK.

Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock's son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he's talking about. And we said OK.

Then someone said teachers and principals better not discipline our children when they misbehave. The school administrators said no faculty member in this school better touch a student when they misbehave because we don't want any bad publicity, and we surely don't want to be sued (there's a big difference between disciplining, touching, beating, smacking, humiliating, kicking, etc.). And we said OK.

Then someone said, let's let our daughters have abortions if they want, and they won't even have to tell their parents. And we said OK.

Then some wise school board member said, since boys will be boys and they're going to do it anyway, let's give our sons all the condoms they want so they can have all the fun they desire, and we won't have to tell their parents they got them at school. And we said OK.

Then some of our top elected officials said it doesn't matter what we do in private as long as we do our jobs. Agreeing with them, we said it doesn't matter to me what anyone, including the President, does in private as long as I have a job and the economy is good.

Then someone said let's print magazines with pictures of nude women and call it wholesome, down-to-earth appreciation for the beauty of the female body. And we said OK.

And then someone else took that appreciation a step further and published pictures of nude children and then further again by making them available on the Internet. And we said OK, they're entitled to free speech.

Then the entertainment industry said, let's make TV shows and movies that promote profanity, violence, and illicit sex. Let's record music that encourages rape, drugs, murder, suicide, and satanic themes. And we said it's just entertainment, it has no adverse effect, nobody takes it seriously anyway, so go right ahead.

Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with "WE REAP WHAT WE SOW."

?

Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says.

Interesting...

Hey Guys! i got this in an email. it is soo good. very interesting! read it even though its long. it might challenge u.
 WORD OF THE WEEK
W.O.W
What is amazing about being Christian? What is so important about
being Christian?

Sometimes Christians start off being fired up for God and maybe this
is because they need something more in their life to give them
purpose, something to hold on to because without this 'purpose' they
are too weak and too hopeless to continue. Sometimes Christians are
drawn towards Christianity because of the sensible morals and because
they make the conscious decision to just stick to something.

Which one were you? I was the second option. I never believed in God
and I thought that it was really, truly a great thing to do be
religious, believe in God, have faith, but I could not fathom the idea
of God. Someone watches over me? A being hovers in the air and defines
the future? As if. Time passed and I had encounters with the
omnipotent creator and I made the decision to commit. I became fired
for God after a Christian camp and I began to live a Jesus-loving,
charismatic life. My 'G O D is B I G.' (planet shakers, you are very
cool.)

Now I stand still watching people connect to God. They get sucked into
the superficial world of Jesus-huggers and become manipulated by the
propaganda presented with the nifty tunes and heart-pounding sermons.
Who needs the bible anymore when you have holy spirit-charged
preachers chugging out revelations (I heart Corry) and self-centered
worship songs? Now I am not putting down the amazing services put
together by the different charismatic churches around. I, myself, am a
charismatic Christian and attend a Pentecostal church and I believe
that any church has potential to bring people to Christ and to help
someone find their own way to worship and praise God and what could
possibly be wrong with that? Some people do genuinely connect to God
by jumping and by screaming 'I heart Jesus' and that is great. They
have a gift of being admirably 'uncool' in the eyes of the unchristian
world and they are so so important for creating an image for
Christians, for outreach, for prophesying and so on. But what is at
the core of being Christian and are you genuinely connecting?

Some people, however, sit in circles and just discuss the bible. Is
that cool too? Errr yeah. The point I am trying to make is that
people worship in many ways and the conclusion that I've come to is
that we all need to praise God more. Just PRAISE and THEN worship. It
is amazing being a Christian because we are so honoured, being sinful,
flawed, disappointing children, and yet we are saved by God's grace.

Ephesians 2:4-5

'But God's mercy is so abundant, and his love for us is so great, that
while we were spiritually dead in our disobedience he brought us to
life with Christ. It is by God's grace that you have been saved.'

On top of praising more we all need to find our own ways of loving the
Saviour. So find the church denomination that helps you grow the best
and the one that suits how you want to praise and worship God and not
how you boyfriend/girlfriend or friends want to. The whole God's grace
thing is a major woa when you think about it huh? But eventually this
woa-factor is going to fade. One day you will lose this spark, and if
you don't, congrats, but if and when you do, think about Christianity
like how it started a decision. You made a commitment to God and to
yourself to grow to know him, to please him and to live with the
almighty holy spirit, God's great helper, so keep your commitment. I
realised a little while ago that sometimes it's not all roses but in
the end, the hard times you go through will reward you and the times
that you don't feel God's presence, keep pushing because when you draw
close to him, he'll draw close to you. So keep reading your bible and
keep praising because Christianity is not about the 'Jesus-high.' It
is about realizing God's grace and about engaging in a life of growth
in close relationship with Jesus Christ through bible-studies, prayer,
listening, interaction with fellow Christians and encouraging others.

Just a thought

Any thoughts?

Where do u stand?

WORD OF THE WEEK

Galatians  5:19-25
"The acts of the sinful nature are obviouse:
being sexually unfaithful, not being pure,
taking part in sexual sins, worshiping Gods
doing witchcraft, hating, making trouble,
being selfish, making people angry with each other, causing divisions among people, feeling envy, being drunk, having wild and wasteful parties, and doing other things like these.
i warn you now as i warned you before:
those things do not inherit Gods Kingdom.
But the spirit produces the fruit of Love,
Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness
Faithfulness, Gentleness, Self- Control. There is no Law
that says these things are wrong."

Now i want you to ask your self where u stand. Why would we want to miss out on God just because we were like the things it first mention in this verse?
Or maybe your wondering why you should even BOTHER with all the good things. you think, "my life is great! i party, get heapz of girlfriends/boyfriends. im fine i dont need God"?
But im telling you now- Living with Jesus is the best thing!! sometimes people think that my life sucks and is boring all because i dont go to partys and get drunk. but the truth is.. LIvInG for GOD is ThE best!!
or maybe you think the bible is BORING and its full of big words with things like "you my thy Holy Father Are among thee" are u laughing thinking thats me!? truth is that its not at all like that. the bible is amazing and God still uses it to help people. its alive and working.. and NOT boring!! its like home and away.. full of people dieing, unfaithfulness, and heaps more.. but the best part is how it has Jesus.. and how he lived life.
Or when someone even SAYS church u think "EEEWW! how boring!!" or u think thats the place where people pray at candles. or maybe u think its only for the 'holy' people. but the TRUTH is that its for EVERYONE. I go to an awesome church and its the most lively places ever. and Boom, the youth, is the most funnest places. thers like a mosh pit ther with awesum music! Its GREAT!!
Or maybe u think "God isnt even funny". well God CREATED humor!! hes the maker of comedy. i see funny things happen to other people.. like yesterday i was at the rehersal for the commonwealth opening ceremony and went to the tolilet. but wen i had finished i walked out and a man was standing there looking very confused. i tryed my hardest not to laugh. then to make him feel better i said, "dont worry its ok"lol! then he ran out and i had a good laugh. so God is Funny!!
So ask yourself again. Where do you stand?

Annoying things to do on an elevator...

Sadly I think I would do this...

Stand silently and motionless in the corner, facing the wall, without getting off.
Stare at another passenger for a while, then announce in horror, "You're one of THEM" and back away slowly.
Say "DING" at each floor.
When there's only one other person in the elevator, tap them on the shoulder and then pretend it wasn't you.
Push the buttons and pretend they give you a shock. Smile, and go back for more.
Hold the doors open and say you're waiting for your friend. After a while, let the doors close and say, "Hi Greg. How's your day been?"
Drop a pen and wait until someone reaches to help pick it up, then scream, "That's mine!"
Leave a box in the corner, and when someone gets on ask them if they hear something ticking.
Stare, grinning, at another passenger for a while, and then announce: "I've got new socks on!"
Bring a chair along.
While the doors are opening, hurriedly whisper, "Hide it...quick!" then whistle innocently.
Call out, "group hug!", then enforce it.
Ask the other passengers "Wouldn't be great if this lift were to plumment to the floor, what do you think will happen?"
Fart and blame it on the person next to you
Let your mobile phone ring, with the crazy frog ringtone - don't answer it.
Bring out a magnifying glass, closey inspect the other passengers skin and say "ooh, look at your pores"
Challenge the guy standing next to you to a "thumb war".

Well thats it 4 today!

Would you guys do this?>

Baked Beans
One day I met a sweet gentleman and fell in love. When it became
apparent that we would marry, I made the supreme sacrifice and gave up beans.
Some months later, on my birthday, my car broke down on the way home from
work.
Since I lived in the countryside I called my husband and told him
that I would be late because I had to walk home.
On my way, I passed by a small diner and the odor of baked beans was
more than I could stand With miles to walk, I figured that I would walk
off any ill effects by the time I reached home, so I stopped at the diner
and before I knew it, I had consumed three large orders of baked beans.
All the way home, I made sure that I released all the gas. Upon my
arrival, my husband seemed excited to see me and exclaimed delightedly:
"Darling I have a surprise for dinner tonight."
He then blindfolded me and led me to my chair at the dinner table.I took a seat and just as he was about to remove my blindfold, the
telephone rang. He made me promise not to touch the blindfold until
he returned and went to answer the call. The baked beans I had consumed
were still affecting me and the pressure was becoming most unbearable, so
while my husband was out of the room I seized the opportunity, shifted my
weight to one leg and let one go. It was not only loud, but it smelled like a fertilizer truck running over a skunk in front of a pulpwood mill I took my napkin
from my lap and fanned the air around me vigorously. Then, shifting to the
other cheek, I ripped off three more. The stink was worse than cooked
cabbage.
Keeping my ears carefully tuned to the conversation in the other room,
I went on like this for another few minutes. The pleasure was indescribable. When eventually the telephone farewells signalled the end of my
freedom, I quickly fanned the air a few more times with my napkin, placed it on
my lap and folded my hands back on it feeling very relieved and pleased
with myself.
My face must have been the picture of innocence when my husband
returned, apologizing for taking so long. He asked me if I had peeked through
the blindfold, and I assured him I had not. At this point, he removed the blindfold, and twelve dinner guests
seated around the table chorused: "Happy Birthday!"
I fainted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Things arent what they seem...

Word Of the Week

Things arent what they seem...
Do you ever think the people who dont give a rip about God have really good lives? they have nice clothes, lots of friends, tons of money...
there are lots of actors, singers, famous people who dont do the right thing but it looks like they are living a "good life". its soo easy to want what they have and wonder why God gave them things you dont have. u might even start comparing your life to theirs and think "WHERE IS GOD ANYWAY??"
Psalms 37 reminds you that the situation isnt always what it looks like. The people who dont care about God have what jesus called a "house on sand" (matthew 7:26). it may be a really nice house but it wont stay up for long. and the people who refuse to obey God have nothing to show for their lives at the end.
When it looks like God is blessing them and leaving you out, you need to know that he IS on your side. you are following the true way. u have the answer to the worlds problems. But God will never leave your side. he will NEVER forsake you. he wont collapse when a storm blows in or run away when things are rough. hes here to stay. WHERE DO U STAND??

Psalms 37:28
"the LORD loves justice and will not leave those
who worship him.
He will always protect them,
but the children of the wicked will die"

Dart test

 Dart Test...
A young lady named Sally, relates an experience she had in a seminary class, given by her teacher, Dr. Smith. She says that Dr.Smith was known for his
elaborate object lessons. One particular day, Sally walked into the seminary and knew they were in for a fun day.
On the wall was a big target and on a nearby table were many darts. Dr. Smithtold the
students to draw a picture of someone that they disliked or
someone who had made them angry, and he would allow them to throw darts at the
person's picture. Sally's friend drew a picture of who had  stolen her boyfriend. Another friend drew a picture of his little brother. Sally drew a picture of a former friend, putting a
great deal of  detail into her drawing, even drawing pimples on the face
. Sally
was pleased with the overall effect she had achieved.
The class lined up and began throwing darts. Some of the students threw

their darts with such force that their targets were ripping apart.Sally
looked forward to her turn, and was filled with disappointment when Dr.
Smit because of time limits, asked the students to return to their
seats. As Sally sat thinking about how angry she was because she didn't
have a chance to throw any darts at her target. Dr. Smithbegan removing
the target from the wall.Underneath the target was a
  picture of
Jesus. A hush fell over the room as each student viewed the
mangled picture of Jesus holes and jagged marks covered His face and
His eyes were pierced. Dr. Smith said only these words...
"Then the King will answer, I Tell you the truth, anything you did for even the least of my people here, you also did for me" Matthew 25:40.

No other words were necessary; the
tears filled eyes of the students focused only on the picture
of Christ. This is an easy test; you score 100 or zero. It's
your choice. if you aren't ashamed to do this, please follow the directions.
Jesus said, "If you are ashamed of me, I
will beashamed of you, before My Father."
Not ashamed ... pass this on.
